Last week, Aspects Beauty hosted their annual Jimtember fundraiser in support of the Jim Jackson Foundation — the charity set up in memory of Aspects’ founder, Jim Jackson.
Now in its third year, the Foundation was created to carry forward Jim’s belief in the power of opportunity — especially for young people who face barriers at the very first step.
Today, the path into further education or training is steeper than ever. A young person hoping to take on a three-year course could face costs of up to £100,000 when tuition and living expenses are taken into account.
For those leaving care or without the backing of a stable home life, that goal can seem entirely out of reach.
The Jim Jackson Foundation exists to bridge that gap — offering support, funding, and mentoring to young people who need it most. And thanks to the efforts of the Aspects Beauty team, this year’s Jimtember event raised £1,300 to help continue that work.
The day itself was full of energy and generosity, featuring a lively round of virtual horse racing, great food, and time for reflection. But beyond the entertainment, it was a moment to reconnect with the mission behind the event.
As Founder and Trustee Jill Jackson shared in her speech on the day:
“The Jim Jackson Foundation is a very new charity, we’ve only been going three years. We don’t have a big organisational structure; everything is done by volunteers, the trustees, and everyone at Aspects.
Aspects was founded by someone who overcame disadvantage because someone cared enough to give him a leg up. That act of support in 1959 helped create a thriving company that now employs over 200 people, continues to grow, and gives back to society in so many different and diverse ways.
Your support for the Foundation, whether financially or by giving your time, is not only important, it’s also a tribute. It acknowledges that Jim Jackson wouldn’t have achieved what he did without that early help.
Throughout his career, Jim helped so many young people through his insight, his advice, his encouragement, and his ability to see the best in people, no matter their background or their challenges. At Aspects, we’re proud to follow his example.”
As a small charity powered by volunteers and community support, every contribution makes a tangible difference. The funds raised during Jimtember will go directly toward creating real opportunities for young people — whether that’s covering course costs, funding essential learning equipment, or simply giving them the confidence to take the next step.
