An Open Letter From Our Founder, December 2023

I am really delighted to be able to report strong progress for the Jim Jackson Foundation in 2023.

Some highlights for the year include:

Paying out over £65,000 in support throughout 2023 assisting a total of 22 people in their ambitions to commence a career in business.

Support Update:

  • Funded 7 large career advancement opportunities such as apprenticeships.
  • Funded 6 Exam fees or courses (excluding apprenticeships).
  • Provided funding for 7 laptops or other technical based equipment.
  • Supporting 2 individuals with travel or clothing as part of our hardship fund.

Fundraising:

  • The charity has raised over £118,000 in the year helping us increase our ability to help more people in the future.
  • £13,632 was raised through a handful of staff supported events at our key charity partner, Aspects Beauty Company.

Other key Statistics & Updates:

  • A total of 192 direct applications received via our website.
  • Significant strides have been taken in refining and honing our selection process for support.
  • Making real progress with two potential associate partners to develop long term agreements to assist young people together. More on this in 2024.

None of this would be possible without the help, support and dedication of our regular donors, our kind ad hoc givers and the effort made by our volunteers in raising funds and running events.

We are also very grateful to our Trustees who are all volunteers and who give willingly of their time and support the efforts of the Foundation so well.

In 2024, we have more ambitious targets, as our charitable objectives have never been more needed.
