It has been a while since we updated you on some of the support paid to our beneficiaries since the turn of the year. We thought we share some of the great work we have been doing and how we have been putting the funds we have raised to good use!
• We have continued our support to one of our initial candidates by further funding him through the Ryanair Mentor Programme. We have also supported him with technical equipment for this course.
• We have supported another candidate, Sara, with a laptop to assist with her studies. She is a young carer and a laptop allows her to complete her A-Level studies from home while caring for her mother.
• We have continued our support of two members of staff working at a HARC charity shop, who are also completing apprenticeships. By paying these salaries, it has given them an opportunity to get first-hand work experience and gain qualifications.
• We have supported another candidate with equipment in order to compete their sports journalism course. This equipment can then be used to start their own business after finishing the course.
• We paid for a candidate, Michael, to complete his tree surgeon courses as well as safety clothing and equipment. This will give him the skills to get employed and eventually start his own business.
• We provided an iPad for Nicole, an 18-year-old girl with Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy.
• We have supported Hawa to retake exams and further assisted her with books and other study materials.
• We have supported Jenny by paying her salary whilst she completes her apprenticeship in the hair and beauty sector. She would not be able to complete the apprenticeship required for her career development without this salary support.
